Obituary of Barry Rauff
Barry was born March 28,1947 in Jersey City, New Jersey. It was here where he spent his early childhood years with his parents, Rita and Jerry Rauff, and younger sister, Barbara.
The Rauff family moved to Sayreville, New Jersey where he spent his middle childhood years, graduating from Sayreville War Memorial High School in 1964.
Barry attended Syracuse University in the state of New York and graduated with honors receiving a Business Marketing degree in 1968.
He went on to enlist in the Army National Guard in 1969 and served his country after college.
Barry settled in East Brunswick, New Jersey where he owned and operated Barry Fabrics, a family-owned business until 1994.
In 1996 he relocated to Colorado and resumed his studies at Colorado Mountain College in 1999. Barry worked as a Network Technician and Senior IT Technician. He settled in Lakewood, Colorado and subsequently, bought a condominium
In Dillon, Colorado to be near the majestic mountain ski slopes with a spectacular view of Lake Dillon where he sailed his boat. Barry bought Mountain Vista Bed and Breakfast.
Barry, a true entrepreneur, was an avid skier and ski instructor, a sailor and captain of his boat, a golfer, a volleyball teammate, and a member of various clubs. His passion for travel was evident as he traveled around the world during his lifetime.
Barry lived life with a joyous intensity and loved, worked, and played hard.
He leaves behind his sister Barbara, niece Jamie, nephew Jeffrey and their significant others, his two grandchildren Rylee and Andrew, his Fiancé Lynda and a devoted group of loving friends.
He passed away in his Lakewood home after a lengthy illness which he battled courageously. Barry will be greatly missed and remembered by many.
