Obituary of Hindy Lewin

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Hindy Lewin. She was the mother of Elaine Lewin Fleming; grandmother of Aaron Fleming (deceased), (Paula), Erika Fleming and Joshua Fleming; great grandmother of Maddie, Austin and Amaya. She was the cherished sister of her brother, Gerald Gordon, and predeceased by her sisters; Frieda, Rachel, and twin Alice. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Hindy was married to the love of her life, Philip (deceased), for 75 years. She was 97 years old.

The private funeral and burial service was held June 24, 2020 at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

Hindy lived most of her life in Ithaca, New York. She worked as a librarian in both the elementary school and the high school.  She was active in her synagogue, Hadassah and Sisterhood.  She was also a Girl Scout Leader, tennis instructor and a community builder.  She loved people and hosted friends and family in her home almost every weekend.

Hindy and Phil moved to Denver after retirement to be close to their daughter and their grandchildren. They became actively involved in Rodef Shalom and enjoyed attending services and also loved the socializing that happened after the services. She was loving, witty, independent and kind.

Contributions may be to Susan B. Komen or Rodef Shalom.
